You don't get to work with a pro photographer every day! If you're like most people, you might feel a little awkward in front of the camera. This guide will help you know what to expect; let's prepare to take some incredible pictures of you and wave goodbye to those nerves!
Quick Consultation Over The Phone
When you reach out to me the first thing I will do is give you a quick phone call.
I just find it easier to communicate over the phone rather than emailing back and forth.
On this call:
- I can answer any of your preliminary questions.
- Get an idea of what you’re looking for in your Maryland family photography.
- Explain what I can do for you and start to plan your personalized photography session.
Learn more about me here.
Quick In-Person Consultation
Next step is to meet in person.
This is SOOO important in my process.
I want to meet you before the session so we can start to form a level of comfortability with each other. That way, on the day of your Maryland maternity photography session we’re not strangers.
At this consultation:
- We will nail down the final design, theme, wardrobe, etc. for your session.
- Take the time to go through my contract and pricing guide in detail.
- Answer any and all questions you might have.
Gain Access To My Information About How To Pose, What to Wear, etc.
As we approach your photo session date, I’ll send you all of my resources on how you can look and feel your best during your photography session.
- Don’t know how to pose? Not a problem, I can send you all the tips!
- Don’t know what to wear? No worries, I have a style guide to help!
When it comes time for your session you will feel equipped and ready to rock it out!
Gain Access To My Collection Of Dresses For Girls And Women
And speaking of what to wear, did I mention I have an entire collection of dresses for girls and women to wear to their sessions?
Well, I certainly do.
I have lots of different styles in all different sizes to fit most girls and women.
This takes some of the stress off your shoulders as you prepare for your shoot.
I even have outfits for my tiniest clients for their Maryland newborn photography session.
Check out my collection of gowns available to you to borrow here.
Photo Shoot Outdoors Or In The Studio
Living in MD definitely has its perks when it comes to outdoor Maryland photography.
I have found some of the most stunning outdoor photo shoot locations you could only dream of.
We have:
- Magical winters with beautiful snow.
- Spring is full of every color imaginable.
- The deep greens and blues of summer.
- And of course our epic fall season.
However, if you’ve spent any amount of time in MD you also know how the weather likes to be challenging at times.
For that reason, I also offer studio photography sessions.
These are especially great for my Maryland maternity photography sessions and my Maryland Newborn photography sessions.
We don’t want momma and baby too cold or trying to walk through the woods too much.
To create stunning Maryland studio photography I use:
- Lighting equipment
- Backdrops
- Props
- The power of photoshop
Depending on the time of year your session will take place and your style we may want to schedule an indoor studio session.
Since I do a lot of Baltimore maternity photography sessions, the studio is essential since it gets so cold.
In-Person Ordering Session
Within a week of your Baltimore family photo shoot (or anywhere in the DMV) we will meet again for your ordering session.
This part is so fun.
At this ordering session we will:
- Sit down together and go through the photos one by one.
- Talk about my editing ideas.
- I assist you as you make decisions on photos.
I offer stunning printed artwork so we’ll have a chance to talk about which options and sizes would look best in your home.
Matter of fact, you can check out my printed artwork options here.
Photos Will Be Edited In My Signature Style And Will Be Polished And Perfect
This is one of my clients favorite parts of the process: when I turn your photos into precious works of art using my 10 years of digital editing experience.
My DC maternity photography clients describe their edited photos with words like:
- “fairytale”
- “magical”
- “breathtaking”
I know you will have the same response when you see your professionally edited photos done by me, your favorite DC family photographer.

I travel all over the DMV. So even my Annapolis maternity photography clients have their products delivered to their door!

Lots Of Perks After Your Session
Another thing my clients love is how there are so many perks to working with me.
I like to go big on celebrating things like birthdays and anniversaries.
I’m always sending gifts in the mail and sharing special deals of local businesses with you.
When you are my client (friend) you get all the bonuses! Since I’m a DC family photographer you will see some familiar businesses sharing deals from that area. I also am an Annapolis family photographer so of course you’ll see some fun things coming in from your favorite Annapolis businesses.
So, what are you waiting for? Let's plan a unique and personalized photography session that shows off the very best parts of you and your family.
